Periodontal Dentistry

Periodontal disease (also known as periodontitis and gum disease) is a common inflammatory condition which affects the supporting and surrounding soft tissues of the tooth as well as the jawbone in its most advanced stages.

Gingivitis most often precedes periodontal disease. Gingivitis is a bacterial infection of the gum tissue. When toxins contained in plaque begin to irritate and inflame the gum tissues and colonize the gum pockets between the teeth, it becomes much more difficult to remove and treat. Periodontal disease is a progressive disease that eventually leads to the destruction of the connective tissue and jawbone. If left untreated, it can lead to the shifting of teeth, loose teeth and the eventual loss of teeth.

Different types of periodontal disease include chronic periodontitis, aggressive periodontitis, Necrotizing periodontitis, as well as periodontitis caused by systemic disease.

Our services include:

  • Deep cleanings (scaling and root planing)
  • Tissue regeneration
  • Pocket elimination surgery

Pediatric Dentistry

Dental appointments should be fun and informative for your child and a pleasant experience for you. We believe in teaching good oral hygiene principles to you and your child so that you can better instruct them at home, thus laying the foundation for long-lasting dental health.

We want every child to walk out of their appointment not only having received the highest quality care, but a positive and lasting memory of the experience that will make them want to return. Our goal is to educate our young patients on prevention, so that they can grow up to be dental superstars, and enjoy a life free of dental problems.

Our services include:

  • Comprehensive exams

Oral Surgery

A number of different conditions may require the removal of teeth. Teeth that are loose or heavily decayed may need to be extracted. Your dentist will discuss your different options.

Wisdom teeth (third molars) are the last set of teeth to develop. Sometimes these teeth emerge from the gum line and the jaw is large enough to allow room for them, but most of the time, this is not the case and they become impacted. Extraction of these teeth is sometimes necessary. After a careful assessment, your doctor may recommend removal.

Cancer screenings are done on every patient at our office. Should an area of concern develop, your dentist may do a biopsy of this area.

Our services include:

  • Wisdom teeth removal
  • Simple and complex tooth removal
  • Crown lengthening
  • Biopsies

We offer multiple levels of sedation, including I.V. sedation.

Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine Clinic

At Art of Dentistry, we are excited to offer an Orofacial Pain and Sleep Medicine Clinic. Our focus is the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) Disorders, Nerve Pain, Headache, and Sleep Apnea. We understand that these conditions can be extremely painful and frustrating to live with, and our goal is to increase the quality of life for our patients.

Dr. Geach is passionate about patients with these types of problems. After she obtained a masters in science degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with an emphasis in Craniomandibular disorders and sleep medicine, she also participated in the preceptorship program at the UCLA orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine center. We are thrilled she is bringing her experience to our practice.

Note: We value referrals from our local colleagues. Patients that are referred to our orofacial pain and dental sleep clinic will only be able to be seen for those services.

We are not currently in-network with any medical insurance. Therefore, the Orofacial Pain and Sleep Medicine Clinic is offered as a fee-for-service.
